From trdelníky to goulash: the hunt for traditional Czech food in Prague.

Farmer’s plate. Pork neck, pork chop, smoked brisket, sausage, two kinds of cabbage, and three kinds of dumplings. ~$10. Plus two pints of Staropramen 12°. Restaurace U Parlamentu.

Trdelníky. Pastry dough roasted on a tube then filled with ice cream and topped. You find these stands all over. There’s usually a sign depicting the spiraled tube.

The Hemingway Bar

Cute little bar with a great absinthe menu and creative cocktails. Definitely one of my top three bars in Prague.

 

The Chili Bar

The Chili bar is a tiny bar hidden away in a hard to find alley quite close to the square.  One of my top three bars in Prague.

Old fashioned.

Another hole in the wall place that I really liked.  Far from the tourist traffic.

(We’ve reached the end of our trip.  Time to settle down for a bit and recharge our batteries and our bank accounts.  It’s been a good run.  Eugene had the right kind of vibe we were looking for.  Good people.  A good size.  Affordable.  We’re going to give it a go here.  But we’re open to what comes.)
