Alexandre – December 12, 2017

Alexandre

Alexandre was a very happy surprise. I was in Brussels unexpectedly for a few days and ran across Alexandre online while looking for a nice dinner spot. My intuition did not let me down. A fantastic meal. Every course was spot on. Both delicious, beautiful, and surprising. Everything I look forward to in a great dining experience. My companions may be have been having a bit too much of a good time as we got a couple of complaints but the staff were very hospitable and our merriment continued unabated.

Our suspicions of who narked on us were confirmed when I exclaimed during the cheese course, “I wouldn’t suck a dick for cheese but…” and a table of crisp businessmen all pivoted with angry faces. I hope these guys never attempt a nice meal in Italy.

Where am I now?

Eugene, OR

(We’ve reached the end of our trip.  Time to settle down for a bit and recharge our batteries and our bank accounts.  It’s been a good run.  Eugene had the right kind of vibe we were looking for.  Good people.  A good size.  Affordable.  We’re going to give it a go here.  But we’re open to what comes.)

Nowhere for the moment

(For the first time in three years we don’t have the next adventure planned out.  That’s going to be a strange reality to adjust to.)
